Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was unable to complete Friday's season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles after sustaining an apparent lower left leg injury with just 6 seconds remaining in a 34-29 defeat in São Paulo.

Love required assistance to reach the sideline, and although he seemed to move slightly better while heading to the locker room post-game, he still needed support from head athletic trainer Nate Weir and running back Josh Jacobs, who helped him under each arm.

Coach Matt LaFleur was asked twice about Love’s condition during the postgame press conference and responded each time with, "I don't know."

Love did not address reporters after the game.

During a final drive to rally the Packers, Love completed a 33-yard pass to Jayden Reed, positioning the team at their own 49-yard line. On the subsequent play, Love dropped back to pass but was hit by Eagles defenders Jalen Carter and Josh Sweat, causing him to twist his leg as he fell. Despite the injury, he managed to flip the ball to Jacobs before hitting the ground.

Malik Willis, who joined the Packers via trade from the Titans last week, took the final two snaps of the game—resulting in an incompletion and a sack. The only other quarterback on the Packers' roster is Sean Clifford, who was released last month but re-signed to the practice squad after being cut during final roster decisions.

This injury occurred in Love's first regular-season game since signing a four-year, $220 million contract on July 26, making him one of the NFL's highest-paid players. He played just three snaps in the preseason opener and did not appear in the final two preseason games.

Love finished the game with 17 completions on 34 attempts for 260 yards, along with two touchdowns and one interception.
