Pakistan fell two spots to eighth place in the ICC Men's Test Team Rankings following an unexpected series loss at home to Bangladesh.

Previously ranked sixth, the hosts' consecutive defeats have dropped them below the West Indies, leaving them with 76 rating points.

This marks the lowest rating points for Pakistan in the Test rankings since 1965, aside from a brief period when they were unranked due to a lack of sufficient matches.

"Extremely disappointed," said Pakistan skipper Shan Masood after their loss in the second Test against Bangladesh. "We were looking forward to the home season, but the outcome has been similar to our performance in Australia."

"We haven’t learned from our mistakes. We believed we were playing good cricket in Australia, but we didn’t deliver. That’s an area we need to address."

At one point in the Test, Bangladesh were struggling at 26/6, but Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz managed to form a strong partnership and bring their team back into the game.
